Dardanel has opened its new sushi factory in Greece and started production.
After achieving success with its first packaged sushi brand, Sushida, produced in Turkey, Dardanel has added a new investment in Greece by starting sushi production.
With its overseas subsidiary, Dardanel Greece, Dardanel increased its influence in the Mediterranean and European markets by acquiring Kallimanis, a well-established seafood brand in Greece, in 2021. Through new investments, Dardanel is enhancing Kallimanis’ product range with innovative items, further strengthening its position in international markets. With the launch of its sushi factory, which has been under investment for the past year, Dardanel Greece has opened its third factory in Greece. The 2200 m² factory is equipped with modern production technologies and has an annual capacity to produce 15 million sushi items. This investment, seen as an important step in Dardanel’s international growth strategy, targets a turnover of 50 million Euros through sales in both Greece and neighboring European countries.
Niyazi Önen, Founder and Chairman of Dardanel, commented on the investment, saying, “We are excited to introduce our packaged sushi products under the Sushida Kallimanis brand to consumers in both Greece and neighboring countries. The sushi category is growing globally, with a high growth potential. Our investment will help us gain more market share in the international sushi category.”
