Dardanel Prepares Young Engineers for a Bright Future

Being the brand of firsts since 1984, Dardanel is now making a significant move in the field of career development programs. With the Engineer Development Program, young engineers make a well-equipped start to their professional lives with the experiences they gain at Dardanel. The company, which prepares recent graduates for the business world, provides young individuals with a professional perspective and an opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. In the program, where goal-oriented work is conducted, young engineers find the opportunity to unleash their creativity in an innovative working environment. Lasting for a period of 6 months, the Engineer Development Program also includes mentoring by Dardanel executives, providing the support young professionals need in their careers.

The program, which will take place for the third time in July this year, is open to young graduates from the Food Engineering, Aquaculture Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering departments who graduated in 2021 or 2022 and have no professional work experience other than internships. After English & Turkish interviews and assessments, successful engineers accepted into the program have the opportunity to attend a welcome meeting where all managers participate, allowing them to get to know the company and the management team better, share their own recruitment experiences, and better understand what is expected of them throughout the program.

During the orientation period, team activities are organized under the leadership of the Human Resources department and unit managers to both foster the development and integration of young engineers coming to Çanakkale from all over Turkey for 6 months.

Future Leaders

In the program, where young individuals gain a complete employee experience for 6 months, their development is supported through one-on-one feedback meetings held at the end of each month. At the end of the program, a graduation ceremony is held for young engineers who demonstrate successful performance, and they are offered the opportunity to officially join the company's staff. Positioned as future leaders, young engineers who are placed in positions can continue to receive mentorship support from Dardanel employees even after joining the staff.

The previous graduates of the Engineer Development Program say that they made a strong start to their careers thanks to this project. Mechanical engineer Murat Can Keskin says, "I have been serving as a Technical Procurement Engineer since October 2020. I am very happy to have my first job experience after university within Dardanel thanks to this project. I believe that strong foundations laid at a young age can build great buildings."

Food engineer Berna Kaya, on the other hand, says, "I have been serving as a Quality Control Engineer at Dardanel for 1.5 years. Before joining the project, I only had theoretical knowledge learned in school. Thanks to this program, I am now a more solid, confident, and self-developing engineer. Learning at Dardanel never ends."

Food engineer Eylül Uygun also recommends new graduate engineers to apply for the Engineer Development Program: "Thanks to the content of the program, I believe that I have progressed much faster and more fundamentally in my career. I experience the power of being a good team player and team every day. I continue to learn how to deal with difficulties through the mentoring I receive. I would recommend new graduate friends to participate in the project."

13 engineers who successfully completed the program were placed in positions

While a total of 26 engineers participated in the Engineer Development Program in two years, after the 6-month journey of experience, 13 engineers who successfully completed the program were placed in positions. A total of 163 new graduate engineers were interviewed for the 2020-21 periods. Candidates who will be invited for interviews for the new group starting in July this year will be selected from those who apply to the announcement on Career.Net and the Dardanel LinkedIn page or send their resumes to insankaynaklari@dardanel.com.tr.

With the Marketing Development Program and Finance Development Program projects carried out last year, two young talents, after 6 months of work experience, earned the right to be included in the Dardanel staff.

Continuing to develop projects for the participation of successful young graduates in employment, Dardanel contributes to the education of young people and the future of our country with its career development programs conducted under the name "Geleceğin Rotası" (The Future's Route).
