8th Çanakkale Biennial is taking place with the main sponsorship of Dardanel.

Dardanel, as a brand born in Çanakkale, continues to contribute to the city's economic and social life. In this context, Dardanel has undertaken the main sponsorship of the 8th Çanakkale Biennial. Taking place between October 1 and November 5, the biennial is realized with the participation of nearly 40 artists and 6 art initiatives, supported by Dardanel. The biennial, under the general artistic direction of Azra Tüzünoğlu, addresses relationships between humans, nature, animals, and all living and non-living structures through questions such as 'How do we produce together?', 'How do we live together?', and 'How do we work together?'.

Niyazi Önen, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dardanel, stated that Çanakkale, with its cultural and natural values, is a contemporary city of art and culture. He said, "The Çanakkale Biennial is taking place for the 8th time this year, and we, as Dardanel, are proud to take on the main sponsorship of this year's biennial. It is very gratifying to see that Çanakkale, the cradle of historical and cultural richness, is also at the forefront in contemporary art life. Being part of long-term art events with the Dardanel brand, which is identified with this city, also makes us especially happy. As Dardanel, contributing not only to the economy but also to the social life of our city is important to us. With the responsibility of being one of the oldest and leading organizations in the region, we want to grow, develop, and increase our societal well-being together."

The biennial, which will meet art enthusiasts at 11 different locations across the city, will feature various events such as main exhibitions, panels, workshops, and film screenings. In addition to the main exhibitions, the Dardanel Sports Facilities will host the new poetry work of British artist Robert Montgomery. The biennial focuses on the issue of working together and has invited AVTO, Monitor, Are Projects, Ka Atölye, and Garp Sessions initiative from Çanakkale, as well as the independent Giungla Festival from Lucca, Italy. Each initiative is expected to contribute to the artistic content of the biennial with exhibitions and projects reflecting their own production and working practices, as well as their perspectives on art. MAHAL, The FeHAN, Bordo Bina, Dardanel Sports Facilities, and ÇTSO Çanakkale House will host the main exhibitions of the biennial.

The Çanakkale Biennial, maintaining its sensitivity towards the memory and historical processes of art, will introduce Alparslan Baloğlu's retrospective exhibition and his new project reinterpreting Troy from today at the magical atmosphere of the Troy Museum.
