Dardanel, aiming to become a global seafood brand, is making a name for itself in international markets. The company participated in the SIAL Paris 2022 Fair, which took place from October 15th to 19th, where it met with thousands of food professionals from over 200 countries. With the participation of Dardanel Chairman of the Board Niyazi Önen, the company became one of the most prominent brands at the fair.

As a pioneer of innovations and firsts, Dardanel attracted attention as one of the most notable brands at the fair by bringing Turkey's beloved street food, stuffed mussels, to Paris. Visitors were treated to Dardanel Stuffed Mussels made with mussels grown in Dardanel's mussel farm in the Dardanelles Strait. The Stuffed Mussels received great acclaim from visitors during tasting sessions. Harvested from the mussel farming facility, the mussels are packaged and frozen to meet consumers with the assurance and taste of Dardanel.

Aiming to become one of the largest seafood producers in the world and with this vision, Dardanel recently acquired the well-established Greek brand Kallimanis. At the fair, Dardanel showcased Kallimanis products as well, combining its experience in production and marketing with Kallimanis' expertise in the frozen seafood market, which spans over 65 years.

Commenting on their participation in SIAL Paris, Dardanel Founder and Chairman of the Board Niyazi Önen stated: "Since 1964, the SIAL Fair has been bringing food professionals from all over the world together. We have been participating in this fair for about 40 years now. In the first year we participated, there were only 5 companies from Turkey. This year, we are introducing the innovative side of the Dardanel brand and its innovative products to professionals and visitors from around the world. We have brought stuffed mussels, a product much loved in Turkey but new for Europe, to international markets. We first introduced our frozen stuffed mussels at the Barcelona Seafood Expo in April. Visitors who tasted the stuffed mussels showed great interest. Now, we are here at SIAL Paris with our Dardanel Stuffed Mussels and Kallimanis brand. At this fair, we are presenting both our frozen seafood products under the Dardanel and Kallimanis brands to visitors. We value participating in such fairs that bring together the global seafood industry."

Expressing their goal to become one of the leading seafood producers in the world in the future, Niyazi Önen stated, "With exports to 25 countries, we are one of the fastest-growing companies in Turkey's food exports. Currently, our group's export is at the $40 million level. We have important projects for exports. In the near future, we aim to double this and grow further. We prioritize exports both for the Turkish economy and for the development of our company. In exports, we prioritize taking market share with our branded products. We have our own brands in many countries and markets. By 2025, we aim to generate 50% of our revenues from exports. Continuing our steady growth in our sector, we increased our sales by 92% in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year."

Accelerating its growth plans in exports, Dardanel increased its exports in terms of turnover by 78% and in terms of tonnage by 70% in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year. The company had a successful fair process at SIAL Paris. SIAL, the world's largest food innovation fair, has been bringing together food professionals from all over the world since 1964, inspiring the sector. With this fair, Paris becomes the center of innovation and trends in the global food industry for 5 days.
