Dardanel became the main sponsor of the 9th Çanakkale Biennial.

This year, celebrating its 40th anniversary, Dardanel became the main sponsor of the 9th Çanakkale Biennial, which will be held from October 4 to November 11, 2024. The Çanakkale Biennial, which has hosted over 500 artists to date, will focus on the themes of youth, technology, tradition, and the future under the title “Leaving Time Behind” and will once again be a meeting point for the local community and art enthusiasts.

As the main sponsor of the 9th Çanakkale Biennial, Dardanel continues its support for art and culture with a contemporary vision in its 40th year. The Biennial, organized by the Çanakkale Biennale Initiative–CABININ since 2008, is one of Turkey's most established and unique international art events. The Biennial aims to make Çanakkale, the birthplace of the Dardanel brand, a global hub in the contemporary art ecosystem. Starting on October 4 and continuing until November 11, 2024, the Biennial will focus on three main themes: Youth Culture and Art-Technology, Fresh Approaches to Global Issues, and Art in the Transfer of Culture. The 9th edition of the Biennial, which has hosted over 500 artists, will emphasize inclusivity, interaction, and strong dialogue with younger audiences. Featuring a wide selection of works from international artists, the Biennial will create a new artistic focal point in Çanakkale, spreading across various venues in the city center, as well as in Assos, Bozcaada, and the Troas Region.

Niyazi Önen, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Dardanel, said:
“As Dardanel, we are supporting the 9th edition of the Çanakkale Biennial for the third time this year. Çanakkale, with its historical and cultural richness, is one of the most important cities not only in Turkey but also in the world. The Çanakkale Biennial shows the world how advanced our city is not only in economic terms but also in contemporary art. As the main sponsor of the 9th Çanakkale Biennial, which will be held in our city, rich in social, cultural, and historical treasures, we are pleased to contribute to enriching Çanakkale’s cultural life and to positioning the city as a center of attraction. I believe this year’s Biennial will continue to inspire our region, art lovers, and participants, and will contribute to the social and cultural life of our city.”
